The HG2 Story

Our story is extremely unique! Our mom is truly the legacy behind the success of HG2 Emergency Lighting and without her, none of this would be possible. Not only was she an amazing woman, entrepreneur, mother, and grandmother, but she was a driving force in the making of HG2.

Mom

Our mother, Sadiah Baker, was born in the beautiful country of Jordan in 1935. In 1973, she immigrated to the United States with just a dollar and a dream. Even when the odds were against her, she put her faith in God. She pushed forward for a better life and earned the universal name, “mom”, to all who crossed paths with her.

When we think of mom, we think about a woman who built up many successful businesses since 1979 and staffed over a hundred loyal employees. With 40 years of experience in the automotive and lighting industry, our business continued to grow. She provided a better life for her children, which then transpired into providing better lives for her fourteen grandchildren and one great grandson. All fourteen of mom’s grandchildren are educated, and are proud members of the armed forces and law enforcement.

Mom was truly an inspirational and remarkable woman who broke all barriers. Regardless of the circumstances she was facing, her power and strength allowed her to move forward and live a happy life. When we talk about good fortune, hard work, dedication, and blessings, we think about Sadiah Baker. Over the last 40 years, we have watched staff members grow up and have families of their own. It just goes to show you that without mom, we would have never been blessed enough to meet such phenomenal people who have been with us during our journey.

From nothing, Mom built an exceptional life for her and her children. We are honored to share Mom’s story with the world as a memoir of persistence and hard work. Due to mom’s determination to fulfill the American dream, all of her children still work together and follow in her footsteps. Sadiah Baker’s story will never be forgotten, and we are proud to continue her legacy of hard work, faith, and determination.
